Framing Structure
Framing Structure

Pro-Steel Framing
Is a light weight steel system which utilizes Cee and Zee steel purlins to form its structural roof frame. The steel purlins are interconnected with a series of plates, steel brackets and sleeve connectors, which are then, fasten together with nuts, bolts and screws. The entire frame is anchored securely to the ring beam, which is tied into the foundation of the building.

Structural Steel Framing
Structural steel framing, may include vertical columns and or horizontal I beams welded and plated together, purlins are then fasten to the steel rafters to complete the skelton frame. The engineer normally selects the size of I beams based on the span, load and size of the structure.

Timber Framing
Timber Framing includes a framing system which utilized timber to create the framing system for a roof.

Concrete Works and Screeding
Concrete Works and Screeding refers to the use of a light weight concrete to construct a roof. Lightweight concrete is a mixture of concrete mixed with a proteen foaming agent to significantly reduce the Psi of the concrete when it dries, thus allowing the concrete screed to be significantly lighter and reduced air tension within the concrete which allows the concrete screed to offer higher insulation values than a standard structural load.

Style of roof
Style of roof
Shed
Shed roof: A roof containing only one sloping plane.

Gable
Gable roof: A roof containing sloping planes of the same pitch on each side of the ridge. Contains a gable at each end.

Gable & Hip
Gable-On-Hip Roof: A roof configuration with hips coming up from the eave corners that terminates into a gable roof.

Hip
Hip roof: A roof containing sloping planes of the same pitch on each of four sides.

Hip & Valley
A Hip and Valley roof is a roof with both Hip(s) and Valley(s). A Hip where the two sloping sides meet at an upward angle. A Valley is where two sloping sides meet at a downward angle.

Multi-style/ Multi Roof
A Multi Style Roof is a combination of all the styles of roof i.e. Shed, Gable, Hip, Valley.

Sheeting Profile
Sheeting Profile
42″ Deluxe Profile
A wide coverage Roofing Panel that is simple, durable and cost-efficient, its fastened down onto the frame with screws that have a neoprene washer for an effective seal.

39″ Spanish Tile Profile
Our Spanish tile simulates the look of a Dutch clay tile appearance with an offset wave pattern every 16″ inches across the panel.

39″ Shake Tile Profile
The Shake Profile resembles a classic or cedar wood shake with a 1/2″ step every 13.5″ and vertical ribs every 11″ across the panel. This panel is stylish, exclusive, durable and adds a beautiful architectural dimension to your home.

18″ Standing Seam Profile
This is a Structural panel that can be rolled formed on site and can be installed on low pitched frames . The panels are fastened to the purlins or structure by metal clips, then snapped and interlocked into each other. Therefore, the panel is not perforated or compromised in any way ensuring a watertight system and can withstand winds of 120 mph.

39″ Corrugated Profile
Our corrugated metal panels are perfect for warehousing and large building structures. The Corrugated panels are made of high strength steel, its tough, practical and will fit your most basic needs.

Gauge
The thickness of the sheet metal is measured in Gauge. The lower the gauge number, the thicker the metal. 26 Gauge is the industry standard for residential use, while 24 Gauge is mainly used for commercial projects.
Paint Finish
Paint Finish
Polyester
Polyester Paint formulations: – contains corrosion properties, good surface adhesion with durability of appearance and mechanical strength. The finish is also flexibile so it does not fail if the substrate is dented or bent.
PVF
PVF Finish -has the all the benefits of polyester together with a pearlescent / metallic finish which is a custom formulated fluorocarbon solar-reflective paint system for excellent colour and gloss retention.
Metallic PVF
Kynar 500 resins provide superior weatherability for metal coatings. Kynar is a proprietary licensed formulation, containing at least 70%, by weight of the total resin, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) providing the ultimate colour retention and performance.
Colour Choice
Colour options available by Roofman Ltd for all sheeting materials

Flashing
Flashing: Are the finishing details and components used to form an effective seal where the roof covering is interrupted or terminated, preventing rain and moisture entry into the structure.
PLEASE ENSURE TO SELECT AN OPTION FOR “STYLE OF ROOF” ABOVE TO OBTAIN AN ESTIMATE FOR FLASHING

Insulation
Insulation is a reflective material used to reduce the flow of heat into the building. Insulation is installed between the rafters (purlins) of your roof. We offer three types, 1)single ply, 2) double ply and 3) double ply fire rated.
Bubble
Bubble insulation – consist of two layers of Barrier Bubble air cellular material laminated between layers of aluminium foil to provide excellent thermal resistance. Reflects up to 97% of the radiant energy strikling it surface.

Foil Insulation
Foil Insulation – consist of one layer of foil barrier of aluminium foil to provide thermal resistance. Reflects up to 95% of the radiant energy strikling it surface and its not Fire Rated.

Bubble – Tempshield
This is a premium brand of insulation consisting of 2 layers of Barrier Bubble air cellular material laminated between layers of aluminium foil. Reflects up to 98% of the radiant energy strikling it surface and its Fire Rated.

Aluminium Guttering
Gutter: A channel installed along the downslope perimeter of a roof to convey runoff water from the roof to drain into the downspouts. Our Aluminium gutter is rollformed onsite to any length required.
Soffit
Soffit: The finished underside of the eaves. Roofman Ltd offers 2 types of Soffit.
Inverted Standing Seam
Our Inverted Standing Seam Soffit is an 18″ structural flush Seam Profile panel. This panel interlocks into each other for an effective seal. It can be rolled with pencil rib striations or without.

U panel
Our U Panel soffit is a custom produced panel to any width the customer requires, its produced without any ribs or striations and it provides a clean finish detail. The most popular finish size is the 14″ flush seam panel.

Accessories
Roofman Ltd provides a full range of all accessories required for the installation of a roof. Our roofing accessories include, but not limited to: Fasteners, screws, clips, Nuts, bolts, washers, silicone, gutter and downspout accessories.
Concrete Waterproofing [Torch Applied Membrane]
We use a Polymer modified bitumen waterproofing membrane that is torched applied by Heat bonding to the concrete to form an effective watertight seal.
Onsite Rollforming – Standing Seam Profile/Guttering Only
At Roofman, all our sheeting profiles can be produced in lengths to co-inside with transport conveniences. If longer lengths are required, our standing seam profile machine and guttering machine are mobile to allow the materials to be roll formed on site to required lengths.
Tear Off/Strip Existing Roof
Tear off: Removing an existing roof system.
Number of Dormers
Dormers are a framed window unit projecting through the sloping plane of a roof. Pop up from the main roofline, like a small house with its own walls, roof and window. Roof dormers provide light, added space, and ventilation to the topmost spaces in the house.
Roof Pitch
Pitch: Also known as “slope”, pitch is the measure of how “steep” a roof is. For example, if a roof is a 4/12 pitch, the roof rises 4 inches for every horizontal run of 12 inches. The pitch of the roof is a big factor in determining the tpye of profile that can be installed. Usually, a steeper roof (higher pitch) will last longer due to its better drainage capabilities.
Aluzinc
Aluzinc is a steel substrate coated on both sides with an aluminium-zinc alloy. The excellent corrosion resistance of Aluzinc is a result of the properties of the two metallic substances creating a barrier effect of the aluminium existing on the surface of the coating and the sacrificial protection of zinc.
